Leeds United transfer dilemma on cards amid Daniel Farke contract issue
Leeds United manager Daniel Farke may be inadvertently hurting his team’s chances of signing new players.
The German is contracted until the summer of 2027, and there has been no progress on a new Elland Road deal yet.
There were doubts about the former Norwich City boss’ record in the Premier League, but he has removed them by keeping the LS11 side in the top-flight.
Farke’s situation provides an unwanted dilemma for the Whites, as they may struggle to attract new players.
Leeds need a significant number of signings to take them to the next level, but their targets may be reluctant to join.

Why Farke contract situation could hurt Leeds’ transfer ambitions
Leeds surely have to hand Farke a new contract, but there are no guarantees in football, so he could walk at the end of his current deal.
Given that uncertainty, potential new additions may not want to commit, in case the manager changes in a year’s time.

| Matches | 148 |

The man who replaces Farke may choose to discard players, and new signings will be wary of that if the German’s future is not sorted.
What has been said about Farke contract?
The 49ers have already hinted at a new contract for Farke, through comments made by board member Peter Lowy.
He told The Athletic that the group need to sit down with the boss and come up with a new long-term strategy, as they have already fulfilled the last one that they made.
He said: “Where Daniel is right, is we need to sit down, which we will do now, and set a new set of goals.

“We had a four-year plan that we did in three. Now, we need another three-year plan. If you look at how I worked at Westfield and how the 49ers work, there are tactical issues and strategic issues.
“What Daniel was talking about was the strategic issue of the long-term plan, how we do it. We need to sit down and do it again because we got there a little early.”
That suggests that the 49-year-old is the man that they see taking charge of the foreseeable future in the Whites’ dugout, barring some kind of drastic change in fortunes.
You can’t plan for the future without having the manager in place, so Farke’s position seems to be secure in the minds of the hierarchy.
Until the deal is actually confirmed and signed, though, there may still be doubts in the minds of potential new recruits.
They need to announce an extension shortly, so that players are willing to make the move and know that their position is secure and will not change next summer.
If that is not the case, potential additions may think twice about accepting the Peacocks’ proposals.
