Leeds United to secure Lois Openda loan deal in ideal situation for all parties involved

Leeds United could potentially sign Juventus striker Lois Openda on loan in the upcoming transfer window.

According to Corriere dello Sport on 7 May, the ideal solution for the Bianconeri would be to send the Belgium international away temporarily in the summer and then possibly re-evaluate his price tag.

The Italian club secured the centre-forward on an initial loan deal with a £34.5million obligation to buy, which is to be paid in four instalments.

Openda has been linked with a move to Elland Road and his arrival at the West Yorkshire outfit would temporarily freeze the amortisation of his fee at Juventus.

The 33-cap Belgian star could potentially kickstart his career in LS11 as 49ers Enterprises look to reinforce Daniel Farke’s squad in the summer.

Leeds United prepare for departure with Lois Openda transfer

Joel Piroe will most likely leave Leeds ahead of the 2026-27 season to secure regular game time elsewhere.

That would leave the Whites with a lack of depth in the number nine position and Openda could be a possible solution to that problem, arriving on a bargain deal.

The Belgium international can play across the front line and behind the striker, giving Farke plenty of options if he makes his way to Elland Road.

While fans would want to see the Peacocks sign another reliable goalscorer, the 26-year-old forward may still be a decent squad player to have around, even if he fails to live up to expectations.

Dominic Calvert-Lewin dilemma evident at Elland Road

Dominic Calvert-Lewin’s purple patch midway through the season at Leeds saw him get a call-up to the England national team in March.

The former Everton ace is definitely one of the reasons for the Whites’ turnaround after a poor start to the campaign, but his recent form hasn’t been encouraging.

Considering the 29-year-old’s inconsistency, scoring two goals in his last nine Premier League appearances, Farke may look to sign a reliable centre-forward soon.

The West Yorkshire outfit have done well in the Premier League this season, but they clearly need more quality in their squad to climb further up the table over the next few years.
