Leeds United to be all over Axel Disasi transfer after West Ham relegation

Leeds United should consider making a move for Axel Disasi in the upcoming transfer window if West Ham United are relegated.

The France international signed for the Hammers on loan in the winter transfer window and has been one of the standout performers since, as Nuno Espirito Santo looks to turn things around.

If the Irons get relegated, the 28-year-old, who doesn’t seem to have a future at Chelsea, surely won’t want to return to London Stadium in the summer.

Disasi was wanted at Elland Road in January, but the centre-back ended up joining the East London club and has become a key player in their revival.

Daniel Farke may want quality signings after securing Premier League safety, which looks likely, but the same can’t be said about West Ham, who are 18th in the table with three games to go.

Disasi’s Premier League record for West Ham

The centre-back has been dominant against opposition attackers and hasn’t been dribbled past yet, winning 71 per cent of his ground duels and 63 per cent of his aerial ones.

Disasi also doesn’t commit too many fouls, with 0.5 per game, and has decent quality with the ball at his feet, completing 88 per cent of his passes.

Daniel Farke system perfect reason for Axel Disasi deal

Farke has opted to play three centre-backs since the end of November, which has brought Leeds considerable success in recent months.

Considering the tactical change has brought the Whites closer to Premier League safety, it would be surprising to see the German manager make any changes anytime soon.

Defensive reinforcements will surely be on the West Yorkshire outfit’s agenda in the summer and they should turn their attention to Disasi.

The former AS Monaco star can slot in one of the centre-back positions and increase competition for places in the starting lineup, something that will only be beneficial for the Whites next season.
