Leeds United still want Lukas Hornicek as contract priority update drops at Braga
Leeds United have maintained their interest in Lukas Hornicek.
The Czech goalkeeper emerged as a target for the Whites back in March as Daniel Farke looked ahead to the upcoming transfer window.
Signing a new shot stopper appears to be a desire at Elland Road after Karl Darlow once again ended the campaign as first-choice in B71.
As good as the Wales international has been, it seems that the Whites still want a fresh face in between the sticks.
Hornicek is still wanted by Leeds, but things may not prove straightforward heading into the summer.

Leeds United target Lukas Hornicek could still sign new contract at Braga
The 23-year-old has been a regular in Liga Portugal ever since becoming the true number one at Braga towards the end of last season.
He is now coming off the back of his first full campaign as the first choice, and he has certainly thrived in the role.
| Stat (Liga Portugal 25/26) | Lukas Hornicek |
| Matches | 33 |
| Clean Sheets | 12 |
| Saves | 74 |
| Penalty saves | 2 |
| Goals conceded | 33 |
That has caught the eye at Elland Road, especially after Lucas Perri’s failure to shine after his move from Lyon in the summer.
Portuguese outfit Bola na Rede reported on Wednesday that Hornicek remains a target, although Braga aren’t currently open to transfer negotiations.
Porto and Benfica could also swoop in for the goalkeeper, who’s been named in Czechia’s 2026 World Cup squad, should Diogo Costa or Anatoliy Trubin leave either side, respectively.

Braga rate him highly and are instead keen on renewing his contract at the Municipal Stadium after becoming a key player this campaign.
Leeds want a new keeper like Hornicek and may have to fight hard to secure his signature, especially with the upcoming summer tournament.
Who is Leeds target Lukas Hornicek?
The Czechia international has certainly made a name for himself this campaign with the Arsenalists after making 55 appearances in all competitions.
Braga has certainly reaped the rewards of taking a chance on the keeper after bringing him in on an initial trial from Czech outfit Pardubice in 2019.
He eventually made his way through to Braga B in 2021 and has since proven to be a useful asset for the first team.
That has seen him end his latest campaign on 55 appearances, with 12 clean sheets coming in his 33 Liga Portugal outings.

He made 74 saves in that time while also acting as a sweeper 45 times before completing 846 passes with a 74.9 per cent accuracy.
All that has clearly caught the eye of Leeds, and for good reason, but they look set to face a battle to seal his signature this summer.
