Leeds United want to sign a new striker in the upcoming transfer window.

The Whites are adamant about reinforcing the number nine position in the summer, according to TEAMtalk.

On 17 March, the news outlet reports that the West Yorkshire outfit are yet to decide on their priority target to bolster the centre-forward position, but an addition will certainly be made in that department.

49ers Enterprises must back Daniel Farke at the end of the season if the Peacocks can avoid Premier League relegation and it will be interesting to see what sort of investment Paraag Marathe makes.

Leeds wanted Jorgen Strand Larsen in the winter transfer window and were willing to pay a hefty sum for him.

It’s clear to see the Whites are ambitious about adding more quality up front, but they missed out on the Norwegian striker to Crystal Palace.

The West Yorkshire outfit have failed to sign the former Wolves centre-forward and it will be interesting to see who they will target next.

Any player who does come in will surely need to be someone who can be relied on to score consistently in the Premier League, which might mean the Peacocks will turn their attentions to an attacker with a proven record in the English top flight.

Dominic Calvert-Lewin and Lukas Nmecha have done a decent job in LS11, but Farke wouldn’t mind having another quality option at his disposal.

Joel Piroe has been a bit-part player for Leeds this season after leading the goalscoring charts in the Championship.

The Suriname international has fallen down the pecking order drastically since Calvert-Lewin and Nmecha’s free transfers to the Whites.

In the winter transfer window, there were rumours around Piroe’s potential exit, but the former Swansea star seemingly opted to fight for his place at Elland Road until the end of the campaign.

Farke will undoubtedly let the 26-year-old leave in the summer and the addition of a new number nine will open the doors for his departure even wider.
