Leeds United should bite off Wrexham’s hands as Mateo Joseph offer incoming

Leeds United could receive an offer from Wrexham for Mateo Joseph in the upcoming transfer window.

The Spain Under-21 international joined RCD Mallorca on loan last summer but has underwhelmed in LaLiga this season.

MOT Leeds News have learnt that Wrexham are interested in Joseph and will pursue his signing if they win promotion to the Premier League.

Phil Parkinson’s team are level on points with sixth-place Southampton right now and have a realistic chance of finishing in a play-offs spot.

Leeds’ Premier League future may determine their transfer strategy in the summer, but the Whites should bite off Wrexham’s hands if they make an offer for the Spanish forward.

Leeds United fans will not want Mateo Joseph back after what’s happened in Spain

Joseph moved to Mallorca on loan for regular game time after it became clear that he wouldn’t get a lot of opportunities at Elland Road.

While the 22-year-old has been getting consistent minutes at Estadi Mallorca Son Moix this season, he’s failed to make the most of his chances.

Joseph’s LaLiga record this season

The Spaniard has made 28 appearances in LaLiga, scoring two goals and two assists, missing eight big chances and creating three big opportunities, as per Sofascore.

Joseph is clearly underperforming in the current campaign, with an xG of 5.09, a goal conversion rate of six per cent and 0.5 shots on target.

The striker doesn’t seem to be involved much in build-up, completing 8.6 passes on average with an 81 per cent passing accuracy, and he has completed just 0.6 dribbles per game with a 47 per cent success rate.

Paraag Marathe must realise Mateo Joseph reality at Elland Road

Paraag Marathe highly rates Joseph and didn’t want to accept any loan offers with an obligation to buy last summer.

The Leeds chief must now recognise that the Spanish attacker hasn’t shown much promise over the last several months and it would be best to part ways with him.

If the Whites remain in the Premier League, there’s no chance the centre-forward will make a considerable impact in LS11, given his numbers in LaLiga.

Any reasonable offer Wrexham make should be considered, as Joseph doesn’t seem to have a future at Elland Road.
