Leeds United ready to pounce as Bilal Nadir heads for exit at crisis club Marseille
Leeds United are reportedly closely monitoring Bilal Nadir’s situation at crisis Ligue 1 club Marseille ahead of the summer transfer window.
Marseille have been on a dreadful run of form that has seen them slip down the table, while they are said to have an £86million financial deficit to make up.
There is an acceptance that players will have to move on this summer, while those out of contract are reluctant to commit to new deals.
One of those is Nadir, who is highly rated but has not been given as many opportunities since Habib Beye took charge.
With a month to go until the summer transfer window opens, an update has emerged regarding Leeds and Bilal.

Leeds could land Bilal Nadir on the cheap
Leeds already appear to have struck a deal for Hidemasa Morita ahead of his exit from Sporting CP as a free agent.
And it may well be that Nadir is another free agent who is snapped up when the transfer window opens.
| Bilal Nadir | Ligue 1 2025-26 |
| Games (starts) | 20 (5) |
| Goals/assists | 0/4 |
| Pass accuracy | 90% |
| Interceptions per 90 mins | 0.4 |
| Tackles per 90 | 0.9 |
As per Foot Sur 7, Leeds are closely monitoring the 22-year-old, as are Villarreal, Strasbourg and Girona.
Nadir has spent his entire senior career to date with Marseille and has made 51 appearances in all competitions, including 26 outings this campaign.
However, the Morocco Under-23s international is not expected to sign a new deal at Stade Velodrome and Marseille accept he will be moving on.
The Nice-born player is said to be seeking a signing bonus in the region of £2.16m and a yearly wage in the region of £1.04m, which equates to around £20,000 a week if correct.
What type of player is Nadir?
Nadir is a central midfielder by trade, though he has shown some versatility when used this season.

The former France age-grade international has played in attacking midfield, defensive midfield and as a pure central midfielder.
However, he has predominantly been used as a substitute this campaign, with Beye preferring other options.
The fact he cannot get into a struggling Marseille side will send alarm bells ringing, though at the same time he is a free agent who is apparently asking for a small fee.
At this stage Leeds chiefs are simply monitoring the situation, but on the basis of what was mentioned above, this surely looks like one to avoid.
