Leeds United are expected to spend around £100million in the upcoming transfer window if they survive Premier League relegation.

Adam Pope has predicted the Whites to make a similar investment in their squad to last summer if they avoid going down to the Championship, something fans will surely rage at.

The BBC journalist expects the West Yorkshire outfit to be financially capable of spending money at the end of the season.

In the summer of 2025, the Peacocks made 10 acquisitions, including two free agents, with Noah Okafor the most expensive signing from AC Milan, costing around £18m.

It must be noted that relegation will surely alter Leeds’ transfer plans, but, assuming they stay in the Premier League, a new striker should be their number-one target.

Dominic Calvert-Lewin and Lukas Nmecha were signed as free agents last summer, and while both deals have paid off, it was certainly a gamble from the Whites.

The former Everton ace has scored 10 league goals this season, but they came during his purple patch, which now seems a long time ago.

Farke’s future at Elland Road was in question after winning the Championship title, with talks of his sacking growing louder at Leeds.

The German manager was fighting for his job at one point in the season, but has managed to turn things around since the Manchester City fixture in November.

Regardless of whether the Whites get relegated, it will be interesting to see whether Marathe believes Farke is the right person to lead them next season.

Fans in LS11 are set for a nervy final stretch of the season, which could determine what direction the West Yorkshire outfit will take.
