Leeds United have left themselves vulnerable to losing Wilfried Gnoto for cheap ahead of the upcoming transfer window.

The Italian youngster has barely featured regularly for the Whites in the Premier League and it isn’t surprising to see speculation around his exit.

Freiburg are working hard to sign Gnonto in the summer and the West Yorkshire outfit are said to be open to a sale or a loan with an obligation to buy.

Going into the negotiations, 49ers Enterprises certainly don’t have the upper hand, considering the 22-year-old’s game time has arguably plummeted his value a bit.

Daniel Farke doesn’t seem to fancy Gnonto at Elland Road and interested clubs will surely try to take advantage of his situation in LS11, something the Peacocks can have no complaints about.

Gnonto has started just four Premier League games this season and it’s no wonder that Leeds are ready to let him go.

The winger has made 22 league appearances overall, averaging 23 minutes per game, scoring zero goals and providing one assist, according to Sofascore.

Farke has usually opted to bring on the Italy Under-21 international in the final minutes of games, which doesn’t give the forward much time to make a mark.

In the Championship last season, the 22-year-old had 15 goal contributions, created 10 big chances and recorded 1.1 key passes and one successful dribble per game.

Gnonto looks far off from the player he was in the previous campaign, with just 0.2 successful dribbles per game this time around in the English top flight, which will likely affect what the West Yorkshire outfit can demand for his sale.

Daniel Farke summer intentions clear at Elland Road

Farke wants to see Leeds match his ambition in the summer and has already held initial talks with Paraag Marathe and the rest of the hierarchy over their plans for the future.

The German manager will surely be expecting quality investment in his squad and the Whites should look to raise funds from player sales.

There are plenty of stars who have been surplus to requirements this season and could potentially be on their way out of Elland Road.

Gnonto is one such player and a mini squad rebuild may be on the card in LS11 to appease Farke.
