Leeds United: ‘Ambitious’ 49ers already at work in exciting transfer prediction
Leeds United owners 49ers Enterprises will already be working on transfer business ahead of next season.
That is the view of former Leeds winger Aaron Lennon, who was speaking after the Whites effectively sealed another season of Premier League football.
Leeds saw off already-relegated Burnley 3-1 on Friday night to move nine points clear of Tottenham, who face Aston Villa in their game in hand on Sunday.
Daniel Farke‘s men need a disastrous set of final results if they are to go down, with even the most pessimistic fans able to celebrate another season of top-flight action.
Leeds will need to strengthen in the transfer window before they go again next season, which is exactly what Lennon is predicting.

Leeds give themselves extra few weeks to play with
It looked for all the world as though Leeds’ relegation battle – if they were ever truly in one – to go right down to the wire.
However, Farke’s men have shown some real consistency for a number of months now and were never properly dragged back into the mix.
| Leeds United | Statistics | Burnley |

And thanks to that impressive turnaround, spanning back to defeat against Manchester City at the end of November, Leeds are surely now safe with a few weeks to spare.
It means the 49ers can start shopping for Premier League-quality players, rather than preparing for another promotion push in the Championship.
Speaking about Leeds’ plans on talkSPORT after the win over Burnley, Lennon said: “It is going to be difficult [staying up again]. There is no doubt, the second season is always harder.
“But the owners are ambitious. Leeds will spend again and they will spend big. It is just so important that they get the right player.
“Getting to nine points [clear of relegation], Leeds will go into the market early and it is so important for the football club to get the right players and get them in early.

“It’s a massive, massive achievement for this football club.”
Leeds have three fixtures remaining, starting with a trip to Tottenham a week on Monday and then games against Brighton and West Ham.
What type of player will Leeds look to sign?
Leeds spent well last season, with a number of the new signings making a massive impact in their maiden campaigns at Elland Road.
The same is going to be needed again, with upgrades required in certain positions and back-up needed in others.
It is no coincidence that Leeds continue to be linked with new goalkeepers, while other names are also regularly cropping up.

Hidemasa Morita is said to have already committed to joining Leeds. A move for Lois Openda could also potentially be back on the cards.
Exciting times lie in wait for Leeds, with the aim now of repeating this season’s success in 2026-27.
