Leeds nailed on to be faced with Jack Harrison dilemma as Serie A stats raise more concern

Leeds United seem almost certain to have Jack Harrison back at Elland Road this summer.

It’s been years that Leeds have tried to offload Harrison, though to no avail, with a loan move to Everton their only success in recent seasons.

The former Man City winger joined Fiorentina on loan at the start of the campaign, where it’s believed they have the option to turn it into a permanent deal should they choose to.

Much of that is likely to hinge on the impact that he can have in Italy, which, as of now, has been minimal to say the least.

And should that continue, Leeds may be stuck with Harrison for yet another transfer window.

Jack Harrison’s stats make for grim reading

With three assists in six Serie A starts, you could easily be tricked into thinking that Harrison has enjoyed life in Italy.

However, his underlying numbers show that not to be the truth, and, in fact, it’s quite the opposite.

Just as he did at Leeds, Harrison has shown an incapability to deliver a good ball into the box, with a 15.9 per cent cross accuracy.

For that metric alone, he ranks among the bottom 25 per cent of wingers in Italy, though things get even worse from there.

The 29-year-old has won just 33.3 per cent of his total duels, which again places him among the bottom 4.3 per cent of those in Serie A.

With nine chances created in 640 minutes of action, Harrison also showcased how poor he is in the final third, which again will come as no surprise to any Leeds supporter, given the lack of quality he has delivered since joining five years ago.

What is Harrison’s contract situation?

To the disbelief of many at Elland Road, Harrison will still have two years left on his contract at Leeds come the end of the season.

All that does is make it harder for Leeds to move him on, while giving Harrison little incentive to push for a move, given his likely wage.

But for both parties, an exit may still be agreed this summer, though it’s likely to be one that sees the Whites record a loss from his transfer back in 2021.
