Leeds defender Sebastiaan Bornauw reacts as Borussia Dortmund deal agreed
Leeds United defender Sebastiaan Bornauw has reacted to Felix Nmecha’s contract extension with Borussia Dortmund.
The Belgian spent two years playing with the German midfielder at VfL Wolfsburg, before his 2023 move to the Westfalenstadion.
Nmecha spent the years of his youth career with Manchester City, before following Leeds striker and brother, Lukas Nmecha, to Wolfsburg.
Bornauw has made nine Premier League appearances under Daniel Farke since his move from the Volkswagen Arena last summer.

Sebaastian Bornauw reacts to Felix Nmecha announcement
Nmecha signed for the German giants in 2023, and has attracted interest from all over the continent since.
Die Schwarzgelben announced an extension to his current deal on Wednesday, keeping him at the club until 2030.
Announcing the deal on Instagram, Dortmund received comments from players across European football, including a like from former teammate and current Leeds defender Bornauw.
Nmecha is a crucial cog in the Black-Yellows’ midfield, making 25 appearances with 22 starts in the Bundesliga.
During that time, he has scored twice and registered three assists.
Brother Lukas joined Leeds last summer following their ascent from the Championship last May, and has played a big part as the Whites look to secure their survival.
Lukas Nmecha testament to Leeds’ transfer strategy
Like his brother, the Leeds forward also rose through the academy ranks at Manchester City, having loan spells in the Championship with Preston and Middlesbrough, before he found a more permanent home at Wolfsburg following a loan move to the club alongside Belgian outfit Anderlecht.
While the 27-year-old has mainly played second fiddle to Dominic Calvert-Lewin up top, he has contributed finely when called upon across all competitions.

Limited to just 1,066 minutes compared to Calvert-Lewin’s 2,025, the German has still contributed with seven goals and three assists.
Playing the back-up role perfectly, Nmecha has proven vital when called upon, and is a testament to Leeds’ recruitment last summer – seeing the club solely bring in players either in, or hitting the prime years of their careers.
As Farke’s side battle for survival, Nmecha’s contributions have not gone unnoticed.
