Largie Ramazani could be Daniel Farke’s new Brenden Aaronson as Leeds U-turn possible

Largie Ramazani looks set for a return to Leeds United in the summer.

Many were left quite baffled by Leeds’ decision to send Ramazani out on loan last summer, especially given the impact he had in the Championship despite playing very little.

The Belgian joined up with Carlos Corberan at Valencia, where he has since started to find his feet in LaLiga and has been contributing with goals or assists fairly frequently.

But reports from abroad stated earlier this week that Ramazani is due to return to Leeds this summer and have a part to play next season, which is a strikingly similar situation to that of Brenden Aaronson previously.

Largie Ramazani could have huge impact for Leeds next season

Ramazani’s loan exit wasn’t baffling given that he was clearly not going to get gametime under Farke, but it was in the sense that everyone knew he had the quality to have an impact.

And that has been on show for Valencia this season, where he has five goals and one assist in LaLiga, despite having played just 695 minutes.

It means he is averaging a goal or an assist every 115 minutes this season, having achieved the same in an average of 97 minutes for Leeds last season.

On top of that, his average of 1.68 chances created per 90 in Spain places him among the top 14.6 per cent of wingers in LaLiga.

It looks set to be a similar situation to Aaronson from the previous campaign, in the sense that he goes from being a fringe player in need of minutes away from Elland Road to potentially becoming an integral component of the team.

What does this mean for Wilfried Gnonto?

Unfortunately, if Ramazani is to return, it doesn’t look good for Wilfried Gnonto.

Even in a team lacking confidence in the final third, the Italian has had very few minutes, and if Ramazani is to have a role to play next season, that will only reduce further.

Gnonto has been linked with an exit from Leeds heavily over the last six months, and the summer window is when that could happen.
