Largie Ramazani contract latest: Everything Leeds fans need to know amid exit talk

Largie Ramazani’s Leeds United future has come under the microscope in the last few days.

Ramazani is currently on loan with Valencia in La Liga, after Daniel Farke decided he would not be part of his squad in the Premier League.

The Elland Road star has been shining at the Mestalla, averaging a goal every 121 minutes in the league, and the Spanish side want to sign him.

However, the Peacocks are in a position of power when it comes to any kind of decision over Ramazani’s future at Leeds.

What is Ramazani’s contract situation at Leeds?

Ramazani signed a four-year contract when he joined the LS11 club from Almeria in 2024, and he is still on that deal.

It is set to expire in June 2028, which means that Leeds have all the power on a potential exit and can demand a higher fee.

Alternatively, if they do not want to sell, then they could simply keep him around, as he is not out of contract anytime soon.

Basically, any exit will be on the Peacocks’ terms, if they want him to leave.

What has Farke said about Ramazani previously?

Farke waxed lyrically about the 25-year-old before his loan to the Black and Whites was confirmed, which suggests that he would be willing to keep him around.

Speaking ahead of the game with Newcastle in August, he said: “I think he’s an unbelievable player. He was always professional when he was here. He also showed his talent and his potential, especially in the last game days when we were celebrating, and he was such a great teammate.

“He’s outstanding close to the opponent’s goal, because he always does the unexpected, and this is a big strength.

“I think sometimes, for a newly promoted side, a few other attributes and skills are necessary. But you won’t hear one bad word for me for Largie. I feel pretty honoured and blessed that I was allowed to work with him for the whole year.”

Given how Ramazani seems to be developing on loan with the Spaniards, the German may decide that he will be part of his squad next season.

How does Ramazani feel about Farke?

Whether Ramazani’s relationship with the boss can be repaired remains to be seen, as he clearly did not enjoy being frozen out.

He seemed to dodge a question about Farke when he was asked about why it did not work at Leeds, saying: “Coming here [Valencia] can help me a lot.”

He later seemed to aim a dig at the Whites boss, saying: “Talking to the coach has given me a lot of confidence, and I’m happy.

“I like having someone who shows confidence in me. I think it’s very important for a player that your coach does that for you, and with that you can take a step forward.”

Farke may have some making up to do if he is to convince the former Almeria man that his future remains in Yorkshire, but ultimately, he is contracted until 2028.

Therefore, Leeds will set a price, if they want to sell, and if other clubs do not meet that mark, he will stay at Thorp Arch for the foreseeable future.
