Kalvin Phillips could return to Sheffield United in the upcoming transfer window, with the former Leeds United midfielder keen on a switch to Bramall Lane.

The Blades will look to sign the Manchester City loanee again in the summer, with the England international keen on coming back to South Yorkshire, according to The Star.

On 8 April, the news outlet reports that Chris Wilder’s team have been impressed by the 30-year-old’s attitude since arriving on loan in the winter transfer window.

It’s been claimed that the Whites’ academy graduate doesn’t want to move abroad at the end of the season, but a return to the Peacocks could possibly be off as Sheffield United make their case.

Phillips is still remembered fondly at Elland Road and fans in LS11 would surely love to see him put on the West Yorkshire outfit’s jersey again if possible.

The Englishman’s big-money transfer to Man City was supposed to be his big break, but the midfielder has struggled under Pep Guardiola.

As things stand, the West Yorkshire outfit have decent quality in depth in the middle of the park after signing Anton Stach and Sean Longstaff last summer.

It wouldn’t make sense for the Peacocks to splash the cash on Phillips at the moment, since they already have decent options in the engine room.

Farke clearly doesn’t trust the former Olympique Lyon shot-stopper at Elland Road, with Karl Darlow the number one right now.

The Wales international’s current contract expires at the end of the season, leaving the West Yorkshire outfit with some big decisions to make in the coming months.
