Harry Wilson to Leeds United transfer needed more than ever despite FA Cup triumph

Leeds United beat Norwich City 3-0 in the FA Cup to book a place in the quarter-final for the first time in 23 years.

Daniel Farke made a bold decision to make several changes to his starting lineup against Philippe Clement’s high-flying team, who had won nine of their 11 matches before the fixture at Elland Road on 8 March.

The Whites dominated most of the game, with Sean Longstaff, Gabriel Gudmundsson and Joel Piroe scoring.

Despite Farke getting the better of Clement, the German manager will still surely want to sign Fulham winger Harry Wilson at Elland Road after what was seen in the FA Cup victory.

Daniel James struggles continue at Leeds United

Daniel James has been a bit-part player for Leeds this season, something most fans wouldn’t have predicted last summer.

The Wales international was instrumental in helping the Whites win Premier League promotion, and was expected to play a key role for Farke in the current campaign.

While it’s true that fitness issues have hampered the winger in recent months, he hasn’t started in the last five Premier League games since returning from the sidelines.

The 28-year-old was given an opportunity against Norwich, but arguably failed to take it, with the 28-year-old surely at risk of hindering his future in LS11.

Leeds can go ahead and sign Wilson in the summer on a free transfer, and going by James’ recent displays, the Fulham attacker’s addition will surely be needed at the West Yorkshire outfit if they survive relegation.

Daniel Farke has made feelings clear on another Elland Road forward

Wilfried Gnonto has also underwhelmed at Leeds amid their fierce battle to secure Premier League safety.

The Italian youngster has scored just one goal for the Whites this season, which came in the FA Cup third round against Derby County.

Dominic Calvert-Lewin has had to shoulder the burden up front for the West Yorkshire outfit, and someone like Wilson, who has nine league goals this season, will surely complement the English striker.

James and Gnonto should get their act together if they don’t want to be replaced by the 28-year-old Fulham winger in the summer.
