Harry Wilson decision could be a blessing in disguise for Leeds United
Harry Wilson had been heavily linked with a move to Leeds United.
The Whites have had plenty of transfer sagas over the years, but Wilson is one of the more recent ones, having been mooted for a move to Elland Road on several occasions.
Leeds were said to have made an approach on deadline day to bring him in, knowing that he was out of contract at the end of the season.
That move failed to materialise, and the Wales international remained at Fulham, where he tops the goal involvement chart for the current campaign.
However, Wilson looks set to join Aston Villa, and it may not be as bad an update as many feared.

Leeds United may be set to dodge a bullet with Harry Wilson
Numbers can certainly be deceiving, and in regard to Wilson, there’s somewhat of a case to be made that his are.
The Fulham forward has 10 goals and six assists in the Premier League, which is an excellent return for any winger, let alone for one playing for a club outside of the traditional big six.
| Premier League | Wilson |
| Games | 33 |
| Goals | 10 |
| Assists | 6 |
| Big chances created | 8 |
| Successful dribbles | 17 |
However, the timing of those contributions often goes under the radar, with Wilson having failed to score for Fulham since a 3-1 win over Burnley back in March.
That leaves him without a goal or an assist in his last six appearances for club and country, despite having played the entire game on every occasion bar one.

Given his likely wages, that level of inconsistency could be a risk for Leeds, who may be better served looking elsewhere this summer.
Leeds have other priorities this summer
Adding quality to the wide areas will be needed, though there are several other positions that need to be looked at first, with the goalkeeping situation one of them.
Karl Darlow has fared well, but even he has had a hand in some poor results this season, with plenty of room for improvement in that regard.
On top of that, the Whites need to add more competition for Dominic Calvert-Lewin, who has been their only reliable source of goals prior to Noah Okafor’s recent run of form.
Once those two areas have been addressed, then it will be a case of anything goes for the Whites.
