Haris Tabakovic transfer already eyed as Leeds United target more firepower
Haris Tabakovic is on Leeds United‘s radar ahead of the summer transfer window as they look to improve on their forward options.
Daniel Farke has been left to rely on the exploits of Dominic Calvert-Lewin for much of the season, with many of his other striking options struggling to impact games.
The Whites went through a heavy rebuild in the forward department last summer after securing promotion to the Premier League.
Leeds signed Noah Okafor, Lukas Nmecha and the aforementioned Calvert-Lewin to boost their hopes of survival.
So far, that has been working with the Peacocks out of the relegation zone as it stands; however, ahead of Leeds’ summer window, they have identified another target to help out for next campaign.

What has been said about Leeds’ interest in Haris Tabakovic?
Tabakovic has recently been in the footballing headlines thanks to his equalising goal against Italy in the World Cup play-offs.
In that matchup, the striker also scored from the penalty spot to send his country into this summer’s tournament.

Now, according to BILD, Leeds and Farke are said to have “strong interest” in signing the Bundesliga forward this summer.
The striker is currently on loan at Borussia Monchengladbach, from Hoffenheim, but the Foals have so far shown no desire to keep him beyond this season.
The report from the German outlet does state that Leeds could face competition from Ligue 1 side Lille, who are likely to seek another striker with Olivier Giroud likely to depart the French outfit.

Why Tabakovic move would make sense for Leeds
With Joel Piroe likely to exit Leeds after failing to impress in the Premier League this season, adding another forward makes a lot of sense.
Additionally, with Tabakovic at 31 years old, the Whites would be signing an experienced option to help in front of goal.
Throughout his career, that experience has been clear, as the Bosnian forward has netted 180 goals in 381 appearances.

So far this season, the Bundesliga star has netted 11 goals in the league, placing him sixth in the German top flight’s rankings.
Tabakovic also showcases an ability to score by any means possible. The Gladbach loanee has scored the same number of goals with his left and right feet, with three goals each.
Additionally, with his 6’5″ frame, he has scored five headed goals, which will certainly be great news for Leeds’ wingbacks.
