Dominic Calvert-Lewin ‘mega wages’ revealed after new £20m-plus Leeds United update
Dominic Calvert-Lewin has been a revelation for Leeds United, playing an integral role as the Whites secured their place in the Premier League.
After a tough spell with Everton, Calvert-Lewin has undergone a perfect redemption story, proving to be a talisman up top under Daniel Farke.
Scoring 14 times and earning himself a spot in the England squad in the process, the striker has been able to get back to his best – and even surpass it.
Joining on a free transfer last summer, the 29-year-old has proven to be a real steal.
Now, the money behind his move has been revealed, but this particular investment has clearly made the difference in the battle for survival.

Leeds investment in Dominic Calvert-Lewin revealed after stellar season
Finishing the season with 14 goals to his name, the forward registered his second-highest goal tally ever in the Premier League, after netting 16 times for Everton in the 2020-21 term.
As a result, Farke’s star striker picked up Leeds’ top goalscorer award with relative ease, with Noah Okafor sitting second with eight.

At the end of the season, The Athletic’s Tim Spiers took the time to rank each of the 189 signings in the Premier League, after the initial early impressions verdict being: “A few early starts have set a good foundation from which to kick on, injuries permitting, as Calvert-Lewin looks to get back to his best.”
And, kick on he most certainly did, with the Englishman proving pivotal as Leeds avoided the drop, earning the tag of the league’s fourth-best signing as a result.
“What a season,” said Spiers in the end-of-season wrap-up. “Fourteen league goals, and one of the feel-good stories of the whole campaign, given that it looked like his career had completely stalled.
“Became the first player to score in six consecutive Leeds matches for 65 years. A free signing, albeit on mega-wages with the club valuing him as something like a £20million-plus investment all in, but boy, was he worth it.”
Elsewhere in the list, James Justin, Anton Stach and Gabriel Gudmundsson would also rank highly, finishing 18th, 22nd and 26th respectively.
What are Dominic Calvert-Lewin’s ‘mega-wages’?
After signing a three-year deal following Leeds’ promotion to the Premier League last May, the contract initially drew criticism – perhaps inevitably, given the trajectory of Calvert-Lewin’s career up to that point.
Instead, he has more than justified his salary. According to Capology, the 29-year-old is the highest earner on the books at Elland Road on £100,000 per week, but that can be taken with a pinch of salt.
Including bonuses, his total pay is reported at £6.5 million per year, rising to £19.5 million over the full term of his three-year deal.

So far, he has proved a fantastic investment, particularly when you consider that other relegation-threatened sides simply did not have a goalscorer of his quality.
For context, Wolves striker Tolu Arokodare signed a four-year deal worth a reported £75,000 per week, yet the Nigerian has scored only three league goals.
Leeds paid the money, and they have received exactly what they paid for.
Now in the latter stages of his prime, Calvert-Lewin still has time on the pitch ahead of him at Leeds — and could continue to justify the sizeable wage outlay.
