Danilho Doekhi remains linked with a move to Leeds United.

The Whites have very little left to play for ahead of Sunday’s clash with West Ham, with the staggered prize money the only thing of importance.

As a result, it’s expected that Leeds will have already initiated transfer plans ahead of the summer window, with another big recruitment push needed.

The Whites need depth across all areas of the squad, while Daniel Farke will be keen to upgrade in specific positions.

Doekhi has been a target for Leeds for months now, and he possesses one key attribute that Frake has been missing at Elland Road.

What would Danilho Doekhi bring to Leeds?

Leeds’ defence has been solid enough on their return to the top flight, with Jaka Bijol and Joe Rodon having impressed.

However, while not a major issue, the Whites have lacked the goalscoring threat from their defenders, which is something that Doekhi would change.

The Union Berlin star has won a remarkable 65.8 per cent of his aerial duels this season, with a total of 156 won, showcasing his dominance in the air.

And that is amplified by the fact that he has managed five goals in the Bundesliga this season, and six across all competitions.

In comparison, Leeds’ typical back three, which usually consists of Pascal Struijk, Bijol and Rodon, has managed just three goals between them.

Who will suffer from Doekhi arrival?

Just as Bijol did last summer, Doekhi would have to wait for his chance to break into the Leeds starting 11 next season, though her will get his chance.

And assuming Farke sticks with the same formation, it is likely to be one of Struijk or Rodon to drop out in favour of him.

Bijol would likely move into left-centre-back, with Doekhi in the middle and Rodon on the right.

Doekhi’s dominance in the air would be best served centrally, hence making Struijk the most likely sacrifice next season.
