Daniel Farke could offer a project that Harvey Elliott could not turn down this summer, as Leeds United emerge as a candidate for his signature.

The Liverpool forward has been on loan with Aston Villa this season, who have a £40million obligation to buy, should he play 10 games.

Now, with just a few weeks left in the campaign, Elliott has yet to hit the 10-game mark, with Villa boss Unai Emery admitting that the Villans do not want to sign him for the obligatory fee.

As it stands, Elliott will remain a Liverpool player heading into the summer window, and he is already down Arne Slot’s pecking order, who is expected to remain in charge at Anfield despite poor results of late.

Leeds have emerged as contenders to sign Elliott, and though they face stiff competition from other Premier League and top-flight sides, Farke’s proposal will surely be too good to reject.

Elliott could be available for a lower price than £40m this summer, as it’s thought that miscommunication issues have been the reason for his struggles at Aston Villa.

Regardless, everybody knows the 23-year-old to be an effective Premier League player, it’s just about him finding a club that values him.

Elliott’s best season came in the 2023-24 campaign, where he racked up 15 goal contributions for Liverpool in all competitions, proving to be a key playmaker for Jurgen Klopp.

The attacking midfielder is said to be hoping to find a new home this summer, and Leeds could sway him by showing him a vision to make him the star of Elland Road.

Essentially, telling the player that he will have a crucial role and a loving home in LS11, something his skills have been crying out for elsewhere.

Think about it, his competition would be Brenden Aaronson, and when you consider that Elliott could be the man replacing him this summer, it’s a no-brainer deal.

The Villa loanee is stuck on nine appearances, and as mentioned earlier, he will almost certainly not feature again so that his £40m buy option is avoided.

Noah Okafor is starting to prove his eight-figure worth in LS11 with recent form, and so long as he and Dominic Calvert-Lewin continue impressing, the duo will be nailed on starters for next season.

The defence is pretty solid, with players like Ethan Ampadu and Anton Stach in midfield not needing an upgrade this summer, but Aaronson, among others, is an obvious player to improve one.

As seen in the table above, Elliott’s season in the Championship with Blackburn Rovers back in the 2020-21 campaign blows Aaronson’s statistics away from last season in the second tier.

This is all while considering Aaronson is being matched up here to what was a teenage Elliott at the time, who has since gone on to level up tremendously.

Farke has good connections with Elliott’s former Liverpool boss, Klopp, and the Leeds boss may be in touch to ask for more pointers on how to persuade the player to join this summer.
