Brenden Aaronson exit shouldn’t be ruled out at Leeds United this summer
Brenden Aaronson could actually find himself out the door at Leeds United if they stay in the Premier League.
For reasons that many will be unable to explain, Aaronson has been a regular under Daniel Farke for the last two campaigns, despite very rarely showcasing why.
The USMNT international has started 24 of the 30 games he has played for Leeds in the Premier League this season, having had the eighth-most gametime in the squad.
But despite Farke’s favouritism towards Aaronson, there may be a case that he could be on his way out this summer.

Should Leeds cash in on Brenden Aaronson this summer?
For a midfielder to have seven goal contributions for a newly-promoted side by April, very rarely would the question be asked if they have a future.
However, what should be of concern to Leeds is the fact that his last goal involvement was back at the start of January, when he scored twice in the defeat to Newcastle.
| Premier League | Aaronson |
| Minutes | 1987 |
| Goals | 4 |
| Assists | 3 |
| Chances created | 26 |
| Dribbles completed | 22 |
Since then, it’s not just his output that has dried up, but his all-round impact in games, which has coincided with Leeds’ drop in form.
Even now, the Whites have attackers who have more to offer, and that is only likely to be amplified if they recruit with summer recruits.
And with just one year left on his deal come the end of the season, it may well be the last chance that Leeds get to cash in on the American and receive a decent fee for his exit.
What does Daniel Farke actually see in Aaronson?
This question was asked in the Championship, and it remains a potent question in the Premier League.
Aaronson averages just 19.43 completed passes per 90 this season, which actually places him among the bottom 22.8 per cent of players in his position.
It’s the same percentage as his dribble success rate, with the American averaging just one completed dribble per game.
His only standout stat from the campaign has been his tackling, and with 2.04 per game, it deserves credit and should not be overlooked.
But is that enough to warrant his regular selection in the Premier League? Many would argue not.
