Anton Stach contract examined after Germany snub baffles Leeds United fans
Anton Stach has been brilliant for Leeds United, but it seems Germany manager Julian Nagelsmann is not as impressed.
The 27-year-old has proved to be a valuable addition at Elland Road, with four goals and three assists in 26 Premier League matches.
That form earned him a call-up to the national team, and he featured in the pulsating 4-3 win over Switzerland.
However, Stach was not selected for the clash with Ghana, just days later, which will please Daniel Farke as he will come back fresh.
Leeds supporters were baffled by the decision, and they will be backing the midfielder for the foreseeable future amid his contract situation.
What is Stach’s contract situation at Leeds United?
Stach signed for Leeds in the summer, in a £17million deal from Bundesliga side Hoffenheim.
He signed a four-year contract with the Whites, that is set to run until 2029, at the very earliest, unless he is sold.
| Stach’s stats for Leeds this season | Premier League |
| Matches | 26 |
| Goals | 4 |
| Assists | 3 |
| Chances created | 58 |
| Tackles per 90 | 2.39 |
| Interceptions per 90 | 0.80 |
It seems as though supporters in LS11 will be seeing much more of Stach in the coming years, even if Nagelsmann perhaps does not rate him as highly.
Do Leeds want to offer him a new contract?
Many were calling for Stach to be handed a new deal after his impressive form at the start of his career in Yorkshire.
However, the Whites seem to have no plans to offer him fresh terms at the moment, according to reports in February.

The three-time international is not understood to be high on the priority list, as he is contracted for another four years.
What has Stach said about Leeds fans?
Stach has clearly been impressed by the supporters and how passionate they are since he moved to Yorkshire.
Speaking in March about his first home game in front of them, he said: “The noise, first of all, it was really exhausting the game, the adrenaline.
“The atmosphere was crazy sometimes, I struggled because I have the feeling I can’t hear anymore, because it is so loud.
“It was the perfect start, we won 1-0, I had a really good game, and the crowd was like a real football crowd, how it should be.”
That suggests that he will be happy to stick around for years to come, as he loves the fanbase after what he has witnessed so far.
What has Farke said about Stach?
Farke is very happy by the German’s progress with the Whites so far.
Speaking ahead of the 1-1 draw with Aston Villa in February, he said:
“Anton has been fantastic, he’s played a crucial role.
“He perfectly embodies our balance, out of being a physical player who can stand up to the intensity and physicality of this league, but also he’s good on the ball. Tactically, he’s spot on.
“He’s also a top character, also good technique and also good at set-pieces.”
It seems as though the manager likes having Stach around, based on those comments, so they will surely resist any potential attempts for a sale, if they come about.
