Anton Stach and winter Liverpool target: Leeds United’s indispensables ahead of summer window

Anton Stach is one of a handful of players for whom Leeds United have no reason to entertain offers this summer.

The Whites will be hoping that this summer can be as successful as last, if not even more, given the need for progression.

Leeds are expected to be busy in the transfer window, with depth across several areas needed as well as a fresh injection of quality.

However, maintaining the core of the squad will be just as important as the arrivals of new players.

With that in mind, MOT Leeds News highlights the players that Leeds should keep at all costs this summer.

Anton Stach can be Leeds’ game-changer

It was an excellent first season in the Premier League for Stach, who, despite his injury issues, finished the campaign with eight goal involvements.

He ranked among the top few players for the number of chances created, while also doing more than asked of him defensively.

Only Noah Okafor, Brenden Aaronson and Dominic Calvert-Lewin finished the season with more goal involvements, showcasing his influence in the final third.

As of now, Leeds lack the depth to fulfil the role he plays in the team when he is not available, making him the number one player that they need to keep hold of.

Dominic Calvert-Lewin has more to offer for Leeds

Dominic Calvert-Lewin ended the campaign with 15 goals, which is the second time in his career he has hit that exact tally.

The last time was back in the 2019-20 campaign, where he followed it with a 21-goal season immediately after.

It’s clear that he is a striker who thrives off confidence, and his confidence will be high ahead of the new campaign, despite missing out on the England squad.

Leeds need more attacking quality to take the weight off his shoulders, but he still has plenty to offer at Elland Road.

Jaka Bijol’s Liverpool links showcase Leeds priority

Since Daniel Farke switched to a back five, Leeds have been solid defensively.

And Jaka Bijol has been a crucial component of that success since arriving from Udinese last summer.

Liverpool were loosely linked with a move for him back at the start of the year, and given his profile, that will have been no surprise.

He’s the one defender that Leeds simply cannot afford to lose, and instead, they need to build the rest of the backline around him.
