Daniel Farke will surely be delighted that 49ers Enterprises signed Gabriel Gudmundsson at Leeds United last summer.

The left-back has made fans forget about Junior Firpo, who had been the first-choice in defence for a few years before leaving as a free agent.

With the Whites in desperate need of reinforcements in the backline, they turned to LOSC Lille and signed the Sweden international for around £10million.

Gudmundsson has been a bargain at Elland Road, and the West Yorkshire outfit will undoubtedly be anticipating top teams from around Europe to now be keeping tabs on the 26-year-old.

Gudmundsson scored and assisted his first goals for Leeds as Norwich City lost 3-0 in the FA Cup fifth round.

The left-back played 87 minutes at Elland Road on 8 March, recording a Sofascore rating of 8.8 after making two goal contributions and completing two key passes with 76 per cent passing accuracy.

Apart from the Swedish star’s obvious attacking impact, he made five defensive contributions, won one tackle and seven of his eleven duels.

Gudmundsson has been key for Farke this season, starting in 27 Premier League games, keeping three clean sheets, winning 2.1 tackles per game, 54 per cent of his total duels, completing 51 per cent of his dribbles and creating three big chances.

It’s safe to say that Champions League clubs will undoubtedly have the defender on their radar, and the Whites will certainly be confident of making a profit on his sale.

The 49ers have arguably pulled off a masterstroke with Gudmundsson’s signing and should be preparing themselves for some big offers for him.
