Leeds United star Noah Okafor has put everything into returning to the world stage with Switzerland.

Through his social media and YouTube presence, the winger has never been shy about talking about his past exclusions from the international scene.

Okafor was labelled “disgraced” in the Switzerland camp not too long ago, with his attitude and training called into question by many.

That has completely changed at Elland Road under Daniel Farke, and his form at Leeds has seen him included in the 2026 World Cup squad for the Swiss.

Now, drama ahead of the United States has opened the door for Okafor to shine again.

As England and other countries jet into the States, all eyes are now on the competition.

Switzerland had to leave the country without one of their star men, Breel Embolo, who was blocked from travelling to America and was temporarily left behind, via the Sun.

That’s still not sorted, with Embolo’s ESTA authorisation placed on hold after a previous court ruling.

Now, Okafor will be licking his lips to get a starting berth at the World Cup.

Leeds were without their star man for the final couple of weeks of the season after an injury, and everything following that was the winger preparing for the international.

Okafor was hugely missed in those final games, but the truth is, he had done his job.

Goals against Manchester United, Wolves and Burnley secured a massive nine points and basically kept Leeds in the Premier League.

Securing moment of the season for his role at Old Trafford, it is clear that the attacker has found the love he was so desperately craving in LS11.

Shining consistently on the biggest stage in the Premier League opened the door to the World Cup, and Okafor could easily start for his country.

It would be a testament to his hard work, too, with his defensive work particularly improving, too, showing he’s not all about just getting forward.

Of course, Embolo could still appear in the United States at a later date with only two weeks to go until it all kicks off, but Okafor now has that head start to prove exactly what he can do.
