Leeds United boss Daniel Farke rightly front and centre in final Elland Road outing

Leeds United boss Daniel Farke is front and centre of the matchday programme for the Whites’ final home clash of the campaign against Brighton and Hove Albion.

Farke, out of nowhere, cast his Leeds future beyond this season in doubt at his press conference on Friday afternoon.

The German said he has achieved his three-year aim of guiding Leeds up to the Premier League and keeping them there.

Former Norwich City manager Farke then said it is over to the board to match his ambition when it comes to summer signings.

As Leeds prepare to run out at Elland Road for one final time on Sunday, Farke has been given the credit he deserves by the media department.

Farke said he “has to be convinced” by Leeds’ project as he chucked down the gauntlet to his own bosses.

The 49-year-old is speaking from a position of strength, having kept Leeds up with relative ease this campaign.

What exactly happens next is now anyone’s guess. It may well be that Sunday’s visit of Brighton is Farke’s last outing as Leeds boss at Elland Road.

Whatever the outcome, Leeds are clearly celebrating Farke’s work as he appears front and centre of the matchday programme.

BBC Sport’s Jonathan Buchan posted an image of the programme via X.

Farke still has another year to run on his existing deal at Elland Road, and there is no indication that the 49ers Enterprises have any intention of changing manager.

Farke knows exactly what he’s doing with Leeds comments

Farke is a very clever man and knows exactly what he’s doing with his comments this week.

It must be remembered that reports emerged around this time last year suggesting Leeds were about to twist, rather than stick, in hiring a new manager.

That speculation did not go away until around December time when Leeds put together a run of form that would ultimately keep them up.

Farke’s position right now is as strong as it has ever been, and that is why he is making these comments.

He understandably wants to push on, knowing how tough it will be to repeat the trick next season.

At the same time, Farke knows that if he is sacked by Leeds, his stock will be as high as ever and he will not struggle to land another job.
