Stuart Dallas reacts as Leeds United make Anton Stach announcement

Anton Stach has just won Leeds United‘s Goal of the Month award in February.

The German midfielder joined the Whites from Hoffenheim for an initial fee of £17.3million, and it’s safe to say that it was money well spent.

Stach has been exceptional for Leeds this season, scoring three goals and registering one assist in 24 league games.

Stach’s free-kick in Leeds’ 1-1 draw versus Aston Villa in February showcased his quality from dead-ball situations, and after winning the award, Stuart Dallas reacted to the announcement.

Stuart Dallas reacts to Anton Stach’s achievement

In Leeds’ 3-1 win away to Wolves, Stach’s superb curling free-kick sent the travelling fans into raptures as they recorded their first top-flight away win since their 4-2 win on the same ground in March 2023.

He then capped off a brilliant evening when Leeds beat Palace 4-1 in December by beating Dean Henderson with another free-kick.

And his latest effort against the Villans was his best of the season.

The 27-year-old was roughly 35 yards out from goal and caught out Emi Martinez by going for goal instead of crossing the ball into the box.

On Saturday, the Whites announced on Instagram that the German’s stunning free-kick had won the club’s Goal of the Month award in February.

In fact, 91 per cent of fans voted for that goal to win, which shows not only how brilliant it was, but how important it could prove to be.

Ex-Leeds star Dallas liked the post, and it’s clear that he still holds the club very close to his heart.

Stach has proven his worth to the Leeds faithful, and there could be an argument to say that he has been their best new signing this season.

Has Stach been Leeds’ signing of the summer?

Leeds managed to welcome 10 new arrivals to Elland Road this summer, with several of the additions to the squad proving to be successful.

Lukas Nmecha has been brilliant when called upon, scoring seven top-flight goals in his first season in England.

Gabriel Gudmundsson has adapted to the Premier League brilliantly, while James Justin’s versatility has been indispensable.

However, Stach hasn’t been phased by the physical nature of the top flight, and if it weren’t for minor injuries in the middle of the season, it wouldn’t be a debate.

He is always looking to create a moment of magic, and his individual brilliance can’t be replicated by any other new arrival.
