Richard Keys takes swipe at beIN Sports graphic over Leeds United after Premier League latest

Richard Keys is confident that Leeds United are already safe from relegation.

Daniel Farke‘s side took a giant stride closer to Premier League survival after cruising to a 3-0 victory against basement club Wolves on Saturday afternoon.

It was yet another impressive, slick performance from the Whites, who were able to continue their momentum after also claiming a memorable win at Manchester United last time out.

With eight points now separating them from the bottom three, they will be able to breathe a little easier heading into the thick of this season’s run-in.

The win over Wolves has also convinced Keys that the Yorkshire outfit have retained their top-flight status, even if they’re not quite over the line mathematically.

What is Richard Keys’ verdict on relegation fight?

Leeds do indeed look to have pulled away from the dogfight below them, with results on Sunday also lifting Nottingham Forest clear of the drop zone.

That leaves West Ham and Tottenham to scrap it out for 17th place, and Keys has warned Spurs that they must brace themselves for Championship football.

The pundit then criticised beIN Sports’ decision to include the Elland Road outfit on their relegation battle graphic, even after they had picked apart Wolves.

“They’re safe,” said Keys. “I don’t know what they’re doing on there with 39 points. It’s here.”

His colleague Andy Gray also tipped Leeds’ current haul to be enough to keep them away from the trap door, adding: “Yeah, 39 points is good. I agree with you.”

According to Opta Analyst‘s latest supercomputer predictions, they have just a 0.32 per chance of tumbling into the Championship – near enough an impossibility.

It will be a significant boon to Farke and Co that they are no longer being spoken about in the relegation mix, with their resurgence a testament to their tireless work.

Leeds can go all out on FA Cup

Now Leeds have effectively wrapped up their Premier League survival, they can put their eggs in a very different basket: namely, the upcoming FA Cup semi-final.

They will take on heavyweights Chelsea at Wembley on April 26 and may even go into the showdown as the narrow favourites in light of the contrasting form of both clubs.

The Whites have not won a major trophy since clinching the First Division title back in 1991-92, and they will have no better chance of reaching a prestigious final.

Liam Rosenior’s Blues have won just three of their last 10 top-flight matches and were recently held to a 2-2 draw with Leeds after surrendering a two-goal lead.

Farke must seize the moment by rotating his starting XI in the league and focusing on Chelsea. If he does, more magical memories could be right around the corner.
