Richard Keys backs Leeds United survival as Elland Road factor to play a role

Richard Keys believes Leeds United can use their form at Elland Road to survive Premier League relegation.

The Whites face Manchester United at Old Trafford on 13 April as they look to increase their three-point gap from the relegation zone.

Keys feels West Ham United and Tottenham Hotspur are the two teams that will largely feature in the fight for survival going into the final stretch of the season.

The veteran sports broadcaster has backed the West Yorkshire outfit to get the job done in the current campaign and maintain their top-flight status.

Daniel Farke must beat Michael Carrick to calm the nerves among the Peacocks’ supporters as the Hammers start to pick up form under Nuno Espirito Santo.

Daniel Farke knows Elland Road form won’t be enough at Leeds United

A majority of Leeds’ points this season have come at home, winning six and drawing five of their 16 matches.

Away from LS11, Farke hasn’t been able to maintain the same ability, winning just once on the road in the Premier League from 15 games.

Leeds’ home and away form in the Premier League this season

While the Whites’ home form may drag them over the line at the end of the campaign, they can’t be naive about it and need to come up with a plan to find stability, starting with the game at Old Trafford.

The Peacocks have three home games left in the league against Wolves, Burnley and Brighton, with a trip to the London Stadium on the final day possibly deciding either team’s fate in the English top-flight.

Speaking on beIN SPORTS on 12 April, Keys said, “I think Leeds will be okay. I don’t think they are, but I think Leeds will be okay. I think you’re talking Tottenham and West Ham largely. I think Leeds’ home form, I said at the start of the season, would keep them afloat. I think it will keep them afloat.”

Elland Road injury crisis won’t encourage fans in Premier League survival race

Anton Stach and Joe Rodon are expected to be sidelined for a few weeks, which will come as a bitter blow for Leeds.

Farke has relied heavily on the midfielder and the centre-back to succeed in the current campaign and their fitness issues arguably couldn’t have come at a worse time.

Dan James has also struggled with knocks for a majority of the season, while Noah Okafor and Jaka Bijol’s availability is uncertain for the trip to Manchester.

Farke has found solutions to some of the West Yorkshire outfit’s problems in the current campaign and he must find a way to cope with the injuries in the upcoming matches.
