Ray Parlour shares new Leeds United relegation prediction, it’d be ‘disastrous’ for rivals

Ray Parlour believes Leeds United “should have enough” to stay in the Premier League, but thinks either Tottenham or West Ham will go down.

Leeds returned to winning ways on Sunday after edging West Ham on penalties in an epic FA Cup quarter-final tie.

Unfortunately for Leeds, the contest took its toll, as Joe Rodon, Anton Stach, and Noah Okafor are now doubts for their upcoming clash with Manchester United.

Daniel Farke‘s side are four points and three places above the relegation zone, but that gap could shrink if West Ham beat basement side Wolves on Friday and Roberto De Zerbi wins his first match in charge for Tottenham.

Now, ex-Arsenal man Parlour thinks the fact that Leeds have to play so many of their relegation rivals will see them over the finish line.

Kind Leeds fixture list will keep them up

On paper, Leeds have one of the easiest run-ins in the Premier League this season with seven games to go.

As Parlour points out, they still have to play Wolves, Burnley, and West Ham – all of whom are in the bottom three – and 17th-placed Tottenham.

Leeds’ record this season against the bottom four
Wolves 1-3 Leeds20 September
Leeds 1-2 Tottenham4 October
Burnley 2-0 Leeds18 October
Leeds 2-1 West Ham24 October

If they were to repeat the results they achieved in the league earlier this season, Leeds would pick up an extra six points, which would take them to 39.

Leeds are home to Wolves and Burnley but away to Tottenham and West Ham, which is a final day of the season clash.

Parlour said on talkSPORT on Friday morning, “I think Leeds play everyone around them – Wolves, Burnley, West Ham and Tottenham – so they should have enough.

“So I think it’s between Spurs and West Ham, I really do. It would be disastrous for both teams [if they go down], but they just have to focus on themselves and getting three points.”

Leeds face daunting Manchester United test

An injury-depleted Leeds head to Old Trafford on Monday, in a game not many Whites fans expect to win.

Man Utd are unbeaten in their last 18 home league games against Leeds (11 wins and seven draws) since a 1-0 loss in February 1981 under Dave Sexton.

Leeds did secure a 1-1 draw against the Red Devils in January, in Ruben Amorim’s last game in charge, as they look to avoid losing both league meetings with their bitter rivals in a season for the first time since 1994-95.

Moreover, Man Utd have lost just one of their last 20 league games against Leeds (12 wins and seven draws), who have failed to score in each of their last four English top-flight matches.

Leeds have drawn seven of their last eight away games in the Premier League (one loss), with no side drawing more on the road in the division in 2025-26 (Bournemouth and Man Utd also seven).

So, Leeds are certainly underdogs in this clash.
