Lukas Nmecha demonstrates Leeds United priority with Daniel Farke hamstrung vs Chelsea
Lukas Nmecha failed to impact the game for Leeds United after coming on against Chelsea.
Had the Whites taken the chances that came about against Chelsea, this week may well have had a very different feel to it.
But that wasn’t the case, and instead, the Whites were forced to rue their missed opportunities, and a lot of it comes down to a lack of quality and options.
Dominic Calvert-Lewin has hit a rough patch of form for Leeds recently, having scored just twice from open play since December.
And Nmecha’s performance against Chelsea also did the Whites no favours.

Lukas Nmecha shows why Daniel Farke is taking more flack than just
The Whites aren’t blessed with quality options in the forward areas, and that has been a big reason behind some of their downfalls in the final third.
When Calvert-Lewin or Noah Okafor aren’t on form, then Farke has very few other options to turn to with the ability to change the game.

He looked to Nmecha at Wembley, but the German failed to have the desired impact, as showcased by the fact he completed just four of his eight attempted passes.
His only attempted dribble resulted in him losing possession, and the German won just one of his three ground duels.

Granted, Farke did not give him much time to impact the game as he would have liked, but he showed very little quality in the time that he did have, and that will be a problem that haunts Leeds next season.
Leeds must address depth concern this summer
Signing an upgrade on Calvert-Lewin certainly isnt out of the question, but the main area that Leeds need to focus on is their depth.
While it may not be fair to beat Nmecha with the lack of impact brush given the time he had, the Whites simply need options in their squad that can change in a game in that period of time.
Farke will be well aware of that heading into the summer transfer window, though he will remain focused on ensuring that the next campaign is played in the Premier League, with relegation fears still present.
