Leeds United’s worst players 2025-26 – what the statistics say as key pair struggle
Leeds United are coming off the back of a successful Premier League campaign that Daniel Farke can be proud of.
Many tipped the Whites with an immediate return to the second tier, but survival was secured with a few games to spare.
Leeds went from strength to strength from late November onwards and were never in serious threat of going down in the final quarter of the campaign.
Many of the players brought in last summer more than played their part, but some previous go-to men badly struggled.
As the dust settles on the 2025-26 season, MOT Leeds News looks at what the statistics say about United’s worst-performing players.

Willy Gnonto campaign fails to get going
Willy Gnonto played his part in last season’s promotion to the Premier League, but he could never really find any rhythm this time around.
The Italy international started just four league matches, with his other 19 appearances coming as a substitute.
| Gnonto’s transfer | Details |
| Move from | FC Zurich – Leeds |
| Fee | £3.5m (+ 1.5m in add-ons) |
| Current contract expiry date | June 2028 |
Gnonto assisted only one goal and did not score any of his own, in what can only be described as a disappointing season.
Sofascore data has the 22-year-old down as Leeds’ third-worst performer of the season when taking various metrics into consideration.
It is perhaps unsurprising, then, that Gnonto looks set to finally leave Leeds this summer after numerous windows of being linked with an exit.
Jayden Bogle also scores low
Jayden Bogle was a regular presence at the back for Leeds, starting 32 out of 38 Premier League matches and being used as a substitute twice.
The right-sided defender shows his versatility by operating in a few different positions and was one of those Farke knew he could call upon whenever.

However, Bogle’s 6.62 rating for the season is the second worst of any Leeds player, and the lowest of any of the non-attacking players.
Bogle will point to his three direct goal involvements, but he was also caught out plenty of times defensively, explaining his low score.
Daniel James bottom of the list for Leeds
Daniel James, like Gnonto, was unable to make his presence felt on the back of promotion to the Premier League.
The Wales international was restricted to just six starts as he was unable to force his way into the side, with his other 13 outings coming as a sub.

James did not register a single goal involvement and was mainly restricted to cameo appearances.
He registered an expected assists (xA) metric of 0.73, so the figures are not even skewed – James just simply was not good enough.
Whether he will have another crack of it at Elland Road next season, well only time will tell.
