Leeds United’s Premier League survival confirmation – how early could it come?
Leeds United are looking very likely to stay in the Premier League at the end of the season.
Daniel Farke‘s side have taken a huge step towards survival with a five-match unbeaten run that has seen them pull away from the relegation zone.
The dramatic 2-2 draw with Bournemouth on 22 April took the Elland Road side onto 40 points, nine clear of 18th-placed Tottenham.
The Whites have four matches left to play, but they are in a very good situation, and it would take something disastrous for them to be dragged back into the mire.
However, Leeds are not mathematically safe at the moment, but confirmation could come at the start of May.

How Leeds could confirm survival as early as 3 May
Leeds are expected to finish well clear of the drop zone, and survival could be confirmed by 3 May.
Tottenham face Wolves on 25 April, the day before the Peacocks’ FA Cup semi-final with Chelsea, with Farke’s side not in league action until 1 May, when they play Burnley.

Victory in that contest will not ensure survival; they would require Spurs to lose to Wolves and then to Aston Villa on the date in question.
What else could happen in relegation battle?
If the Lilywhites beat the Old Gold as they are expected to, the earliest the LS11 side can be confirmed as safe is matchweek 36.
That would require the North London side to lose to Villa and the Whites to beat Burnley, then the sides face each other.
If Farke’s side secures a victory or a draw against Roberto De Zerbi’s side, and the aforementioned scenario happens, their top-flight status will be confirmed, as there would be six points left to play for and the gap would be either eight or 11 points.

If Tottenham beat Wolves then Villa, then it is a little more complicated; a draw would not be enough if the clash between the sides, as it would require one more Spurs slip-up, or for the Peacocks to match their results in the final two matches.
A loss against the N17 outfit would put the Yorkshire side in danger, if Spurs win their previous two, as it would leave just two points between them.
Of course, West Ham will have a say on the battle too, and negative results for the Hammers could also help Leeds’ safety chances, and the sides play each other on the final day.
