Leeds United travel to Old Trafford to take on Manchester United on Monday as they look to get their survival bid back on track. 

The Whites secured a big result last time out, with Pascal Struijk hammering home the winning penalty from the spot to send Daniel Farke‘s side to the FA Cup semi-finals. 

After a strong run in the early stages of the year, Leeds’ form dipped before the international break – dragging them back into the relegation battle.

Looking to get back to form, they face a Manchester United side transformed under Michael Carrick.

As the Whites prepare to take on their rivals, fans are beginning to look at those around them in the standings, with multiple sides locked together at the wrong end of the standings.

With this in mind, the anxiety among the fanbase could be set to skyrocket heading into the subsequent clash against Wolves, with Opta’s supercomputer labelling the Whites as firm underdogs as they travel to Old Trafford.

The hosts have been handed a 61.7 per cent chance of taking victory against Leeds on Monday, while the chances of a draw are predicted to be higher than that of a win for Farke’s side.

After a good run at the turn of the year, the Whites have been dragged back into the relegation battle, and a loss against their rivals will only increase the anxiety levels.

Leeds fans may be able to begin looking back up the standings

Despite last week’s FA Cup quarter-final win, the mood around the Leeds fanbase at the moment is one of frustration.

Following a 3-0 win against Nottingham Forest in February, the West Yorkshire outfit looked well placed to go on and secure survival.

However, while they have been dragged into the race for the time being, things could soon pick back up, with the supercomputer giving Leeds a 53.5 per cent chance of beating Wolves at Elland Road next week.

The basement dwellers fell to a heavy 4-0 defeat against West Ham on Friday, after being all but condemned to relegation since the opening days of the campaign.

Leeds beat Wolves 3-1 at Molineux back in September, and absolutely have to fancy their chances at Elland Road on 18 April.

Looking to build momentum again ahead of a crucial league run, alongside the FA Cup semi-final against Chelsea, the clash with the Old Gold could be the chance that Farke’s side need to get back to winning ways.
