Leeds United player ratings vs Brighton: Ethan Ampadu a warrior, Dominic Calvert-Lewin delivers
Leeds United beat Brighton & Hove Albion 1-0 in the Premier League on Sunday.
The opening 45 minutes at Elland Road on 17 May had an entertaining end to it after a rather dull start, with both teams going into the break level.
In the second half, the Seagulls were initially the more threatening team, but the Whites quickly took control of the game.
The West Yorkshire outfit and Brighton created a fair few chances in the final half hour, but neither was able to make most of them, with attackers from both sides misfiring until Dominic Calvert-Lewin pounced after a defensive error from the visitors.
Daniel Farke got the better of Fabian Hurzeler in West Yorkshire, as the party atmosphere in LS11 continues following the Peacocks’ Premier League safety.

Dominic Calvert-Lewin pounces at Elland Road
Calvert-Lewin has been in and out of form in recent weeks, with most of his latest performances not up to the mark, but he has managed to find the back of the net.
Against Brighton, the England international struggled to hold up play and serve as the focal point Leeds needed to keep possession for most of the game.

The 29-year-old centre-forward didn’t have a lot of moments in the final third, but delivered when it mattered the most.
Calvert-Lewin’s contributions this season can’t be discounted and fans have a lot to look forward to going into the 2026-27 campaign.
