Leeds United need more from Noah Okafor as stats demonstrate worrying trend
Leeds United are yet to see the best from Noah Okafor, which could be a concern ahead of the final seven games of the season.
With a full campaign almost finished, Anton Stach has certainly been the standout summer arrival at Elland Road for multiple reasons.
However, towards the start of the season, Okafor was the one who looked like he was set to go on and play the biggest role of their new signings.
With that said, injuries and a lack of consistency have halted Okafor’s progress, with stats demonstrating why his form this season may actually be more of a concern than a positive.

Leeds are yet to see the real Noah Okafor
And that may be a good thing for seasons to come, but as of right now, it certainly is a concern for those at Elland Road.
The Swiss international has four Premier League goals, which is a solid return in his first season when taking everything into account, but his lack of impact away from that is what will raise the most eyebrows.
| Premier League | Okafor |
| Chances created | 14 |
| Shots | 27 |
| Shots on target | 10 |
| Dribbles completed | 33 |
| Duels won | 78 |
Not only has Okafor failed to register a single assist this season in the Premier League, but with the forward averaging 0.97 chances created per 90, he ranks in the bottom 23.6 per cent of attackers.
On top of that, his 13.17 successful passes per game also ranks him among the bottom 4.9 per cent, with his 75.7 per cent accuracy no better.
Okafor has generally failed to get involved in games more often than not, and while he usually looks like the player to create something from nothing, he has failed to do so in the majority of the games he has played in this season.
However, not all of the blame for that lies with Okafor, with Daniel Farke positioned for criticism for the role he has played.
Daniel Farke is a big reason behind Noah Okafor’s lack of form
There’s a reason that Okafor was looking more dangerous at the start of the season, and that is because of the way Leeds had set up.
The Whites actually utilised wingers in the early stages, before switching to a system that often saw Okafor partner Dominic Calvert-Lewin up top, which restricts his qualities massively.
He’s afforded fewer opportunities to drive at defenders, which is by far his biggest strength, thus nullifying the threat he can possess on the ball.
Okafor still needs to offer a lot more, but Farke’s current system also doesn’t play to his strengths.
