Joe Rodon at risk of being cast aside at Leeds United as stats expose weakness
Joe Rodon’s performance levels at Leeds United have dropped since the early stages of the campaign.
The Whites may have their Premier League status confirmed before they even return to action, if Arsenal can secure victory against West Ham next time out.
However, there’s certainly a very strong case to be made that it will make no difference what happens between now and the end of May, given the gap they have created.
And with that in mind, transfer plans will have already been initiated at Elland Road ahead of what will be a big summer window.
Rodon has been a regular for Leeds this season, but he could be one of the stars who finds himself replaced in the coming months.

Joe Rodon may actually be a weak spot for Leeds
Rodon hasn’t done much wrong this season, and given the options available, he has actually fared pretty well.
However, Daniel Farke will not turn his nose up at the chance to improve any area of his squad this summer, and given the Welshman’s stats this season, he may be one of those who is identified.
| Premier League | Rodon |
| Games | 32 |
| Goals | 2 |
| Duels won | 132 |
| Tackles | 33 |
| Clean sheets | 5 |
Rodon ranks among the bottom 38.5 of centre-backs in the Premier League for his duel win rate, which comes in at 56.9 per cent.
On top of that, with a 52.2 per cent aerial duel win rate, he also ranks among the bottom 22 per cent for that metric.

Given Leeds’ defend-first mentality, having a solid core will be crucial to progression next season, and Rodon may not quite be at the required level to achieve that.
Rodon may be replaced, but exit will be ruled out
Rodon is replaceable, though the same can be said for the majority of players who have had a hand in this season’s success.
But that’s not to say that they won’t have a crucial role to play in the Premier League, given the experience they have garnered over the last few seasons, and the depth they provide.
Leeds will have to tread a careful line that often comes with the second season after promotion, where teams change their squad far too much.
Rodon will feature a lot next season, regardless of the transfer business done, though there will certainly be better options to start.
