Gary Neville red-faced as he’s reminded of badly wrong Leeds United prediction on Sky Sports
Gary Neville had nowhere to hide as he was reminded of a terrible Leeds United prediction he made for this Premier League season.
Speaking on the first Monday Night Football of the season back in August, Neville named Leeds, Burnley and Wolverhampton Wanderers as the three clubs he expected to be relegated.
Neville was certainly not alone in tipping the Whites for an immediate return to the second tier of English football.
But Leeds have gone on to prove the former Manchester United player spectacularly wrong by staying up with three games to go.
Leeds can now revel in that success ahead of their final-day clash with West Ham United, with an outside chance of a top-half finish on the cards.

Gary Neville wrong over Leeds relegation prediction
Leeds were safe even before their 1-1 draw at Tottenham and 1-0 win over Brighton and Hove Albion.
Dominic Calvert-Lewin‘s late strike against Brighton leaves Leeds in 14th place in the Premier League, 11 points above the bottom three.

It makes a mockery of those who tipped Leeds for the drop, Neville among them.
Sky presenter Dave Jones brought up the start-of-season predictions made by Neville and fellow pundit Jamie Carragher – who had Wolves, Sunderland and Burnley for the drop – ahead of Monday’s clash between Arsenal and Burnley.
Neville could see he was badly wrong about that one, although in his defence he did have Arsenal down to win the title.
Daniel Farke would no doubt have used all the negativity among the media prior to a ball being kicked to his side’s advantage.
Where are Leeds predicted to finish this season?
Leeds are two points off 10th-placed Chelsea, who play Tottenham Hotspur in their game in hand on Tuesday night.
As per Opta Analyst‘s latest supercomputer update, the Whites are expected to finish no higher or lower than their current standing of 14th.

Everton are down to finish 13th and Crystal Palace 15th, with that still quite some finish for Farke’s men.
The fact survival was sealed as early as it was is testament to the German, his backroom staff and every player.
It will now be interesting to see what the pundits are expecting for Leeds when we do it all over again in three months’ time.
