Gabriel Gudmundsson: Micah Richards wanted to walk out of BBC studio after Leeds United red card vs Crystal Palace

Gabriel Gudmundsson was sent off at the stroke of half-time as Leeds United faced Crystal Palace in the Premier League on Sunday.

Thomas Bramall brandished a second yellow to the Sweden international in the fifth minute of first-half stoppage time at Selhurst Park on 15 March.

Micah Richards was apparently left frustrated in the Match of the Day studio to see the left-back walk off the pitch just before the break.

Daniel Farke got a point in South London as the West Yorkshire outfit showed defensive grit and desire against the Eagles, with the game ending in a 0-0 draw.

Gabriel Gudmundsson unlucky in Leeds United draw vs Crystal Palace

Bramall seemed to have forgotten Gudmundsson had already been booked in the game, with Palace players having to remind the referee.

The defender went into the official’s book for a second time in the game after an apparently soft foul on Ismaila Sarr.

The whole situation was arguably avoidable and Bramall certainly has questions to answer.

Richards had Gudmundsson in his Fantasy Premier League team, and the Swedish star’s sending-off will surely affect his matchday points total.

The left-back has been in fine form for the West Yorkshire outfit in recent weeks, but will now probably miss the next game against Brentford at Elland Road.

Speaking on The Rest Is Football on 16 March, Richards said, “When [Gudmundsson] walked off the pitch, honestly, I felt like walking out of the room on Match of the Day. I was like, why?”

Daniel Farke defensive team selection obvious for Brentford game

Jayden Bogle started on the bench for Leeds at Selhurst Park, but Farke will surely call him back in against Brentford.

The Bees travel to West Yorkshire on 21 March, and it would be surprising to see the German manager make too many changes for the fixture.

James Justin can fill in at left-back with Bogle on the right, and the rest of the team can arguably remain the same unless there are any fitness concerns.

The Whites are three points ahead of the relegation zone and the final eight league games will be monumental in LS11.
