Dominic Calvert-Lewin reveal shows why Leeds must pray for Crystal Palace health
Leeds United travel to Selhurst Park for a crunch Premier League clash on Sunday.
Daniel Farke’s side have seen their spirits lifted with a 3-0 win over Norwich City in the FA Cup on Sunday, following back-to-back Premier League defeats against Sunderland and Man City respectively.
As such, Leeds are still looking over their shoulders in the relegation battle, with just three points separating them and West Ham in 18th.
It’s with that backdrop that Leeds take on Crystal Palace at Selhurst Park this Sunday, in a 2pm kick-off that the Whites will be looking to take all three points from.

Why Dominic Calvert-Lewin must be fit against Crystal Palace
Dominic Calvert-Lewin is an injury doubt for this weekend’s game against Palace, after missing out on Leeds’ aforementioned FA Cup triumph over Norwich.
Farke has confirmed that the 28-year-old has been dealing with a slight knee problem over the last few days, and that he didn’t feel 100 per cent ready to play against the Canaries, and as such, wasn’t risked.
Naturally then, his status for Sunday’s trip to Selhurst Park is in doubt, and everyone connected with Leeds will be crossing their fingers that their number nine will be good to go.
That’s not only because he’s Leeds’ top goalscorer with 10 league goals this season, but the experienced centre-forward loves scoring goals against the Eagles.

That’s because in 14 career Premier League outings against Palace, he’s scored seven times and provided one assist, and he’s also proven to be a lucky winning charm for his team too, having been on the winning side eight times.
He’s also never lost against Palace in the Premier League, with his other six games against them ending in draws, so the history books say that if Calvert-Lewin plays this weekend, Leeds won’t get beat.
No Whites fan will need reminding of his exploits when these two met in the reverse fixture back on 20 December 2025, with him bagging a brace in the Whites’ 4-1 win.
What is Leeds’ recent head to head record vs Palace?
With Palace in Conference League action on Wednesday night, Leeds will be hoping they can take advantage of a potentially fatigued Eagles side.
It’s 13th against 15th at Selhurst Park as things stand, and so it looks set to be a tight affair between the two.
However, goals have been a guarantee in recent meetings, with Leeds’ aforementioned 4-1 win being preceded by a 5-1 Palace win back in April 2023.
In fact, only one of these two teams’ last 13 league meetings dating back to December 2010 has ended in a 0-0 draw, and that came in April 2022.
