Dominic Calvert-Lewin has had a fine debut campaign with Leeds United.

The Whites made sure of their Premier League status, albeit thanks to West Ham’s defeat against Arsenal, and Leeds owe a lot of that to Calvert-Lewin.

While the former Everton star has endured some rough patches of form, his goals have so often been the difference this season.

The Englishman was on the scoresheet again in Leeds’ latest draw with Spurs, taking him up to 13 Premier League goals for the season.

And depending on what happens when Leeds host Brighton, he could write his name into the Whites’ history books.

How Dominic Calvert-Lewin could make Leeds history

Not only is Calvert-Lewin just three goals away from matching his best goal return in a single Premier League campaign, but he is also just two goals away from matching the milestone set by Luciano Becchio.

The Argentine scored 15 goals in his first campaign with the Whites back in 2008-09, which hasn’t been beaten since.

If Calvert-Lewin were to score two goals in his next two games, he would match that record, and if he were to score three, he would make that record his own.

And with the forward dreaming of a spot in England’s World Cup squad, a 16-goal season would be far too difficult to overlook.

Should Calvert-Lewin make the England squad?

Harry Kane aside, there have been very few English strikers who have had as good a season as Calvert-Lewin.

Even if he weren’t to score another goal this season, 13 goals for a side who were backed for immediate relegation is an excellent return.

Ollie Watkins has scored 12 while playing for a Champions League-chasing Aston Villa side, and yet he is so often the name that people look towards as an option.

Ultimately, after such a good campaign, Calvert-Lewin will find himself unfortunate to miss out on a spot.
