Tottenham and West Ham should fear greedy Leeds United after latest Daniel Farke comments
Daniel Farke has made it clear Leeds United will not be on the beach in their final fixtures after seemingly securing their Premier League status.
Leeds’ 3-1 win over already-relegated Burnley on Friday saw Farke’s side rise to 14th in the table, with the Whites now on 43 points with three games to play.
No side has ever been relegated with that tally in a 38-game Premier League season, with Leeds hoping they don’t buck that trend.
That is now three wins in their last four league games from the Yorkshire outfit, who are now nine points clear of 18th-placed Tottenham.
Leeds still have to play Tottenham and West Ham in the coming weeks, and off the back of this recent run, they should fear Farke’s team.

Leeds looking up, not down
Since the turn of the year, Leeds have won five games, drawn eight, and lost four.
That has taken them closer to the European qualification spots than the relegation zone, thanks to their scintillating form after the March international break.
| Leeds’ post-international break boom | Date |
| Man United 1-2 Leeds | 13 April |
| Leeds 3-0 Wolves | 18 April |
| Bournemouth 2-2 Leeds | 22 April |
| Leeds 3-1 Burnley | 1 May |
There is a real feel-good factor at Leeds right now as they close the gap on the mid-table teams. The Whites were one of the favourites to go down, now, they don’t want this season to end.
Leeds still have to play Tottenham, Brighton, and West Ham – all teams who have something to play for. Spurs and the Hammers are trying not to get relegated, while the Seagulls are chasing Europe.
The Whites are not mathematically safe, something Farke was keen to stress. The German has had a point to prove all season. Many doubted he would be the man to keep Leeds up, and they may do it despite some of their rivals dwarfing them financially.
Now he has virtually done it, Farke is “greedy” for more points.
He said after the game, “We just want to win points. Even if a special amount of points would be enough [to avoid relegation], we wouldn’t stop being greedy to win more points. We want to win on as many points as possible and be as high as possible in the table.
“It’s remarkable that we are ahead of teams like Tottenham or Nottingham [Forest], who play in Europe [this season] and spent close to £300m in the summer. It’s normally ridiculous, but this is what we have achieved and we are quite proud of it.
“I work with human beings and mature fathers. They are allowed to have goals and targets. They can also aim for as high as possible – 52 points. I also would like to do it.”
Leeds’ patience with Daniel Farke pays off
After Leeds’ promotion to the Premier League was assured just over a year ago, reports surfaced that the 49ers Enterprises were considering sacking Farke.
The former Norwich City boss had failed to fire in the Premier League with the Canaries but he would argue that he wasn’t really given the tools for the job.
They resisted but calls for Farke’s sacking at Leeds grew in November. However, he has turned it around, grown as a manager and a tactician, and remained the calming figure the club needed.
Now, he is hungry for more. Tottenham and West Ham in particular should watch out.
