Daniel Farke receives ominous omen as Jarred Gillett to referee Leeds United vs Brentford
Daniel Farke will worry about Leeds United’s chances of a win against Brentford, as Jarred Gillett has been appointed referee.
The Whites will continue their quest of securing Premier League survival as they host the Bees at Elland Road on 21 March.
Brentford were in action against Leeds’ fellow relegation candidates Wolves on Monday, while Farke’s side have some confidence after a battling point in a 0-0 draw with Crystal Palace.
The Premier League have now announced the referees for game week 31, including confirmation of the officials for Leeds’ game against Brentford.

Daniel Farke was left unhappy with Jarred Gillett earlier in the season
Gillett is set to take charge of his third Leeds game this season, with his last match coming in the 1-1 against Manchester United.
However, before that, the Australian referee did not land himself in Farke’s good books as Nottingham Forest beat the Whites 3-1.
The German was left displeased, as Anton Stach was deemed to have committed a foul when he felt the midfielder was the one that was on the end of an offence.
The Tricky Trees would ultimately score from the free kick, leaving Farke to speak up after the game.
Farke said: “This was the first big mistake of the referee, because I think he was the only one in the whole stadium who saw a foul by Anton Stach.
“It was 100% a foul against [Stach]. They put the ball long. From the second ball, the cross comes in and the goal comes five seconds later. We would have definitely preferred to play by the rules today, but we are also self-critical.”
Leeds are only off the back of another referee controversy. Brennan Johnson was lucky to escape a red card against Leeds as the Whites secured a point against Crystal Palace.
Now, they will have to overcome another bad omen with Gillett, which is separate from his decision-making.
The ominous Jarred Gillett record that will worry Daniel Farke
The appointment of Gillett does not offer much hope for a Leeds win based on his history in the Premier League.
Gillett has been involved in four Premier League matches involving the Peacocks, and in all of them, the LS11 side have yet to win a game.

In those games, the Whites have lost two and drawn the other two. Outside of the Premier League, the record is much better, with Leeds unbeaten outside the top flight with Gillett.
However, that will have no effect on Saturday night’s proceedings, with Farke now having to achieve a Premier League first to secure all three points.
