Daniel Farke must avoid Dan James error vs Brighton as form stat demonstrates risk for Leeds
Daniel Farke can’t afford to start Dan James for Leeds United this weekend.
With the Whites having already secured safety, Farke has been afforded a bit more breathing room when it comes to trying things.
Last week, one of his experiments, albeit slightly forced due to the injury to Jayden Bogle, saw James utilised as a wing-back.
Despite a relatively positive result against Tottenham, James’ performance was not one to remember, with the Wales international targeted.
And when Leeds face Brighton, his inclusion could come at a cost when taking into account the form of Maxim De Cuyper for the Seagulls.

Maxim De Cuyper could cause issues for Leeds United
Brighton have a number of players that can cause issues for Leeds this weekend, but based on current form, De Cuyper may be their biggest threat.
The Belgian wing-back has been involved in three goals in his last three Premier League encounters, which is more than he managed in his first 25 games in the competition.
| Premier League | De Cuyper |
| Games | 28 |
| Assists | 3 |
| Chances created | 27 |
| Big chances created | 9 |
| Successful crosses | 27 |
Usually, it would be Bogle tasked with dealing with the threat from that area, but if James were to be utilised there again, it would be his job, and he failed to do that against Spurs.

James lost all six of his duels against Tottenham, was dribbled past on one occasion, and managed just four defensive contributions, with all four of them being clearances.
With just five completed passes in the game, he also failed to have any real impact going forward, which will have been another concern for Farke.
What is the latest on Jayden Bogle?
Farke is yet to address the press ahead of the Brighton clash, but when he does, he is expected to provide an update on the fitness of Bogle.
The former Blades star missed the clash in North London due to a hamstring injury, though the severity of it has yet to be confirmed.
Given the role he so often plays for Leeds, the Whites will be hoping that he is fit enough to make the squad for the final game of the season at Elland Road, with plenty still to play for.
