Daniel Farke has to add more poisons to Leeds United attack this summer – here’s why
Leeds United are being dragged back into a Premier League relegation battle as the season draws towards a conclusion.
Daniel Farke’s side are winless from their last four Premier League games, and as such, are now looking over their shoulders at the teams behind them.
18th-placed West Ham are just three points behind Leeds, meaning the Whites are perilously close to dropping into the bottom three.
Leeds travel to Crystal Palace on Sunday hoping to put an end to this winless run, but with just one goal scored in their last three league games, Farke’s men are going to have to be sharper in attack this weekend.

Why Leeds United might be too one dimensional in attack
Leeds did put three goals past Norwich in the FA Cup fifth round last time out, which should give them confidence in attack ahead of their trip to Selhurst Park.
The Whites have been able to find different avenues to goal this season, with four penalties scored and three coming from free-kicks in the Premier League too.
However, there are also signs that Leeds might just be over-reliant in one element of their attack, and that’s scoring goals with right-footed finishes.

As per Sofascore, Leeds have scored disproportionately more goals via right-footed attempts (22) than with either left-footed shots (eight), or through headers (six) in the Premier League this season.
Farke’s side have only scored five goals from outside the box this term too, with 32 coming from inside of it, showing that they could perhaps look to add greater goalscoring threat from range to their team this summer.
If Leeds want to start progressing up the Premier League table, they’re perhaps going to require further strings adding to their bow in attack moving forward regarding how they score their goals.
How are Leeds faring in other attacking metrics this season?
As to be expected with a newly promoted team, Leeds are having to rely on being ruthless when their chances arrive in games this season.
Indeed, as per Sofascore, the Whites are creating an average of just 2.4 big chances per game in the Premier League this term, and are missing an average of 1.5 of them.
They’re also putting just 3.9 shots on target per game, whilst 5.1 are going off target per match too, further highlighting Leeds’ need to improve in attack.

However, they have hit the woodwork nine times this season, and so had those gone in, Leeds’ goalscoring numbers would look far more healthier.
Overall, the Whites haven’t been bad in the final third this season by any means, especially for their first campaign back in the top flight, but they do lack that ‘pick your poison’ feel up top.
