Crystal Palace vs Leeds United preview: Team news, lineups and prediction

Leeds United are desperate for all three points when they travel to Selhurst Park to face Crystal Palace on Sunday.

The Whites may have secured their place in the last eight of the FA Cup last Sunday, but they have to turn their attention back to the Premier League.

Leeds lost back-to-back top-flight matches at Elland Road, with both Sunderland and Man City travelling to LS11 and leaving with three points.

And it doesn’t get much easier for them when they take on Oliver Glasner’s Crystal Palace, who most recently drew 0-0 with AEK Larnaca in the Europa Conference League.

Leeds could still be relegated from the Premier League, and Daniel Farke’s side will have to be at their best if they want to secure their second away win of the campaign.

Head-to-head

Leeds have lost only two of their last 10 Premier League games against Palace, and it’s safe to say they enjoyed their last meeting with Glasner’s side.

In the reverse fixture, Farke’s men won 4-1 at Elland Road, with Dominic Calvert-Lewin scoring a brace on the night.

The Whites are now looking to complete the league double over Palace for the first time since 1994-95.

However, the Eagles are unbeaten in their last seven home league games against Leeds since losing 2-1 in the Championship in March 2006.

Overall, Leeds have beaten Palace 32 times, lost 20 meetings and drawn 17 matches.

Team news and predicted lineups

Noah Okafor is back in training after missing four games with a thigh injury, and Farke also has the likes of Joe Rodon and Dominic Calvert-Lewin to assess.

The Welsh centre-back should be fit to play, and although Calvert-Lewin also didn’t feature in the FA Cup win over Norwich, he looks set to make a quick recovery for Sunday.

Having tormented the Palace once already this season, the striker will be desperate to start again.

As for Glasner’s side, Eddie Nketiah is a long-term absentee, and while right-back Daniel Munoz is potentially unavailable for Sunday’s clash after sustaining a shoulder injury, Jean-Philippe Mateta could return to the starting lineup.

We say: Crystal Palace 1-1 Leeds United

Palace are a well-drilled side, and with the backing of the home fans, they’ll be tough to break down.

Having beaten Tottenham away from home in their last league match, they’ll be looking to push on and put themselves in the mix for the European places.

However, the Eagles have lost their last three Premier League games against promoted sides, starting with that 4-1 defeat at Leeds in December.

The Whites have also picked up away draws to Liverpool, Aston Villa and Chelsea in 2026, which shows how resilient they have become on their travels.

Therefore, a 1-1 draw seems to be the most likely outcome.
