Leeds United backed to beat ‘annoyed’ Brentford in latest Chris Sutton prediction
Leeds United should get the job done against Brentford this weekend and pick up three valuable points, according to Chris Sutton.
Leeds host Europe-chasing Brentford on Saturday night under the lights at Elland Road, seeking their first Premier League win since 6 February.
Daniel Farke’s side haven’t scored in their last three league games, as they hover just three points above the relegation zone.
Both Leeds and Brentford have a reputation for being strong at set pieces, particularly when it comes to mining for goals.
However, ex-Celtic star Sutton feels that Brentford’s counter-attacking nature is something Leeds will have to be wary of.

Chris Sutton backs Leeds to beat Brentford
Although Sutton thinks Brentford’s transition game can hurt Leeds, the former Chelsea player still believes home advantage will pay dividends.
Predicting a 2-1 home win, he added that there will be some nervy moments for the home faithful, particularly as they’ve lost their last two home league matches, but thinks they can edge this encounter.
| Leeds United’s home form in 2026 | Result |
| Leeds United vs Fulham | 1-0 |
| Leeds United vs Arsenal | 0-4 |
| Leeds United vs Nottingham Forest | 3-1 |
| Leeds United vs Manchester City | 0-1 |
| Leeds United vs Sunderland | 0-1 |
He said in his BBC Sport column: “The way Brentford will set up is almost tailor-made to face Leeds, really, to hit them on the counter-attack.
“Keith Andrews’s side are pushing for Europe and they will be annoyed they let a 2-0 lead slip in their 2-2 draw with Wolves on Monday.
“There could be some nervy moments for the home fans when the Bees break forward, but I am still going to back Leeds to get the job done at Elland Road.”
It will be intriguing to see how Farke approaches this game, with MOT Leeds News predicting an attacking line-up for the visit of the Bees.

Elsewhere, Sutton believes that 18th-placed West Ham will lose at Aston Villa and 16th-placed Tottenham will edge 17th-positioned Forest in the relegation battle. That will work out well for Leeds if it comes true.
Why Dominic Calvert-Lewin will be key to Leeds’ chances
Leeds took a punt on Dominic Calvert-Lewin last August, with the Whites signing the striker on a free transfer following his release from Everton.
Many Toffees fans felt the forward’s best days were behind him, as injuries and a loss of form took its toll.
However, Leeds’ physio department have kept Calvert-Lewin fit and heading into the final weeks of the season, an England call-up isn’t beyond the realms of possibility.

However, Calvert-Lewin is going through a bit of a dry spell, with the 29-year-old not scoring since Leeds’ 3-1 win over Nottingham Forest nearly six weeks ago.
The former Everton star missed a penalty against Crystal Palace on Sunday and he will be itching to return to scoring ways against Brentford.
If Leeds are to stay up, they need Calvert-Lewin fit and firing. He may hold the key to their survival.
