Chelsea: Liam Rosenior sack update shared ahead of FA Cup semi-final vs Leeds United
Chelsea are now discussing the future of head coach Liam Rosenior just days before they take on Leeds United in the FA Cup semi-finals, according to reports.
Fresh from effectively securing Premier League safety, Daniel Farke‘s side could head into Sunday’s showdown at Wembley as the favourites to progress.
Rosenior looks to be on the brink of the sack at Stamford Bridge in the aftermath of the Blues’ dismal 3-0 defeat by Brighton & Hove Albion on Tuesday night.
The 41-year-old declared he was “numb” and “so angry” after the loss at the Amex Stadium, and there are said to be no guarantees that he will still be in charge for the semi-final tie.
This will come as intriguing news for Leeds, who are now able to prioritise reaching the final as they look to secure a spot in Europe – a prospect deemed impossible last summer.

Leeds could be affected by Chelsea sack decision
While Farke will, of course, be laser-focused on Wednesday night’s trip to Bournemouth, he will also be keeping one eye on the FA Cup and the riches it could offer.
Knocking out Chelsea would represent another significant milestone in an already outstanding campaign, and if Rosenior is still in charge, they will fancy their chances.

Taking to X, Sky Sports reporter Kaveh Solhekol provided an update on the situation.
“Chelsea’s sporting leadership are now discussing what to do next,” he wrote. “They are taking stock of the situation after last night’s shocking performance at Brighton.
“Although the club have backed Liam Rosenior up to this point, football is ultimately a results business. It’s too early to say whether Rosenior will definitely be in charge for the Leeds game on Sunday.”
Rosenior’s days in the hot seat certainly look to be numbered, but how and when the sacking plays out threatens to directly impact Leeds’ cup aspirations.
Should he still be in post for the semi-final despite the mounting speculation over his future, the Whites could well be the team to hammer home the final nail in his coffin.
In-form Whites can pile on misery
All of the portents are certainly gloomy for Rosenior.
This season, Leeds look to have had Chelsea’s number, having won 3-1 at Elland Road in December and then fought back to clinch a 2-2 in the reverse fixture in February.
Farke’s outfit are now unbeaten in their last six matches in all competitions, scoring 10 goals and conceding just three. In the same stretch, the Blues have lost five times.
That means the Yorkshire side should be full of confidence heading into the contest – a terrifying prospect for any manager, let alone one up against the ropes.
