Anton Stach’s latest social media antics set for whole new audience away from Leeds United

Anton Stach has become well known among the Leeds United fanbase for his rather comical social media antics.

The midfield favourite often posts funny images that have been doctored ahead of matches, usually helping to preview the game in his own way.

For example, he posted an image of himself superimposed as the ‘Wednesday’ character from The Addams Family ahead of facing Sheffield Wednesday earlier this season.

Stach recently explained he gets a helping hand from his partner, who studied graphic design.

And the 27-year-old now has a whole new audience for his posts away from Leeds after his recent call-up to the Germany senior squad.

Anton Stach posts funny image ahead of Germany clash vs Switzerland

Stach won over Julian Nagelsmann to earn his Germany call-up, with the heavyweight nation facing Switzerland and Ghana over the next week.

The former Hoffenheim ace will hope to featured in at least one of those matches, with Friday’s clash away at Switzerland looking like a good chance to make his mark.

Ahead of that match at St. Jakob-Park, Stach worked his social media charm once again by posting an image of himself eating Swiss national dish fondue.

Swiss song ‘In der Schwiez’ played over the top of the image on Stach’s personal Instagram stories.

Stach, who joined Leeds from Hoffenheim in a reported £17million deal last summer, has 142,000 followers on Instagram.

And after getting some minutes for Germany this week, assuming he does play, he may well build up even more of a following.

What has Stach previously said about his social media posts?

Stach is more than doing enough talking on the field to get away with his various social media posts.

The posts pre-date his time at Elland Road, but it was only recently the midfielder was asked about them in an interview with BBC Radio Leeds.

“You can get creative,” he said. “Sometimes [me and my partner] try to put the nickname of opponents into it.

“It’s not always so easy. She’s creative and I’m laughing every time. Most of the time she decides on what to do. She’s doing some crazy stuff and I’m always laughing.”

Stach has made 29 appearances for Leeds in all competitions this season, which includes 25 starts in the Premier League.

He has also represented Germany at senior level twice before, but not since 2022.
